Mount Shasta towers majestically at the southern end of the Cascade Range, its snow-capped peak touching 14,179 feet (4321.8 meters) above California's Siskiyou County landscape. As a potentially active volcano, it proudly holds the title of second-highest peak in the Cascades and fifth-highest in the state. Boasting an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles (350 km3), Mount Shasta stands as the most voluminous stratovolcano within the Cascade Volcanic Arc. Surrounded by the picturesque Shasta–Trinity National Forest, this mountain's grandeur is a true marvel of nature.
