I set up a new desk using a Mount-It brand monitor/laptop mount, which also allowed me to add a USB-C docking station for the laptop. This small shelf mounts to the vertical part of the monitor mount and provides some space to put the USB-C Docking Station. It perfectly hides it behind my monitor so you can't see it or any of the cables. I designed it for 1/4-20 hardware, but take the printed parts to the hardware store and see what fits best for you.
