Mount for Kaytee tank topper

I have a Kaytee My First Home tank topper (link below) that I use to expand my gerbils' aquarium. This laser cut works best in acrylic as it is safe for gerbils/rodents, harder to chew through, and sturdy. The text engraving on the side is aesthetic, with the hole in the middle and the for L shaped corner holes being the mounting area and the entrance for the gerbils. For mine, I cut out the mesh aquarium lid in the shape and area where the middle larger hole is, used another piece of acrylic to prevent wires from poking at gerbils, and hot glue to hold it together. This part was then placed on top with the middle holes lined up, and the tank topper was placed on top of that. The corners are slightly larger than necessary and I used a tiny bit of hot glue to secure it from sliding around or shaking that can easily be peeled off for cleaning. the overall width and length of the piece can be altered for whatever tank size you need, and the four corner L holes are measured for this topper. I would suggest making it at least as wide as the tank it will be on top of, but not much wider than the topper so that the rest of the length on top of the aquarium can have mesh for ventilation and light.
