mount and trigger for optical limit switch
thingiverse
I have a Prusa i3 with a z-axis limit switch that gets bumped every time it touches, causing slight misalignment issues. To keep my machine accurately aligned, I sought out a switch that wouldn't be triggered when not needed. Get the same switch here To fine-tune my printer's calibration, see these detailed instructions. Bonus: An added benefit of using this switch is its LED indicator, which changes brightness as the trigger partially blocks the optical sensor when it's close to being correctly calibrated. Watching the LED's brightness during fine-tuning can improve results significantly. This design was created using Fusion 360 CAD software.
