Photographs of a limestone effigy pipe from Moundville, Alabama show the Underwater Panther. The original pipe is part of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University, cataloged as no. 48121, but it's now on display at the Jones Archaeological Museum in Moundville Archaeological Park, Moundville, Alabama. This pipe measures 158 mm long, 96 mm wide, and 164 mm high. Clarence B. Moore first published images of this artifact in his book Certain Aboriginal Remains of the Black Warrior River (1905). The model for this pipe was created by Steve Davis.
