This design is highly adaptable. It can easily transform into various forms including mobile robot chassis, mechanical tank toy (with no motors), motored tank toy, mechanical bulldozer or motored bulldozer. The [optional] tank palette comes in two options: a standard 7-8 speed bicycle chain or an o-ring of suitable size stretched between two wheels on one side. Alternatively, you can use one o-ring for each wheel. The chassis is designed to accommodate geared DC mini motors which are widely available from various sources. If the design is intended as a pure mechanical toy, then extra axle parts can be built and used in place of motors. There is a clever mechanism at the center of the chassis that allows us to tighten the chain without using an additional jockey wheel by simply lengthening or shortening the entire chassis through a single screw. If you plan to build the wheeled version, you can either glue the parts together or secure them with two rubber bands wrapped around the chassis. The wheels come in six different versions: one type allows for free rotation over non-motorized axles while another is designed to be fixed to gear motors' shaft and can be tightened using a screw. All these options are available in various forms including tank palette, rubber ring or normal wheel versions that do not require a bicycle chain.
