I design a motorized spinning platform specifically for presenting models and 3D scanning, but its versatility will allow me to use it for other purposes as well. My goal was to keep the design simple and minimalistic, with no unnecessary parts, and I'm pleased to say that it seems to have achieved that objective. To control the platform, I've used an Arduino board paired with an IR receiver and a vintage remote control. This setup enables me to move the platform precisely to any position during scanning and then return to its original location with exactness.
