I'm featuring this Motorized 3D Print on http://www.htxt.co.za/2017/09/23/this-dalek-from-doctor-who-is-3d-printed-and-motorised/. I scaled down my Full Size Dalek parts to create a Motorized Dalek that will follow me at the next Comic-Con in Santa Fe. This print requires 3/4 Spool or less, depending on your infill settings. The RC Parts came from my son's old RC Car that he used to play with. I imported all of my full-size Dalek parts into Simplify3D software and rendered them with different layer Infills ranging from 2% on the bottom to as high as 100% for extra support at a .1mm layer height. I reduced their size to print on both my large 400x300 delta, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2414471, and small 220x400 Delta, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2358415. The larger Delta printed the larger items in better detail, while my smaller Delta printed the small items at a .1mm layer height. If you don't know this, inside the Dalek Body are the missing parts that you'll need to access by moving the body. I completed the entire print cycle in one weekend using both my 400x300 Delta and 220x400 Delta, printing the smaller more detailed items. Additional files can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2469978/#files and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:369866/#files. I've also added a second version that includes the missing pieces in the body plus an updated neck version requiring less material at 100% infil. This version prints a complete Motorized Dalek measuring 507mm high, 401mm long, and 300mm wide. After printing, all you have to do is add your RC Parts. My finished version will light up like my Full Size Version and say "EXTERMINATE". I'll post pictures once it's put together, but for now, you can start printing your very own Dalek. As of 9/16/2017, I've added a new Head to accommodate the updated neck. As of 9/17/2017, my Mini Dalek Ned is complete, and next will be adding the RC Parts and Speaker. On 9-22-2017, I've added a video of the Dalek in motion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF5MPGv8x3s&t=11s (ignore the bird - it goes crazy with any motorized RC around the house).
