Customizations I Made After Following Motorized MQTT Blinds Tutorial from The Hook Up I made several customizations after following the Motorized MQTT Blinds tutorial from The Hook Up on YouTube. This project was designed for standard horizontal blinds found at Home Depot. I encountered a problem with my initial setup, as my blinds would not close all the way without assistance. To resolve this issue, I needed to add a gearbox specifically designed for the motor. The customizations included: - Servo Holder: A part that can be downloaded from Thingiverse and used to support the servo motor. - Planetary Carrier: This part was necessary to connect the gearbox to the 5.6mm hex rod, allowing for smooth operation of the blinds. - Gears Cover: A protective cover designed to fit over the gearbox, keeping it safe from dust and debris. - Clip: A small clip used to manage the ethernet cable, preventing it from getting tangled or damaged. - Breadboard Connector: This is a miniature breadboard that allows multiple motor drivers to be connected in parallel. It can be customized by cutting metal inserts from a standard breadboard to length. - BreadLid: The lid for the breadboard connector, which was not very well designed but still functions as intended. - 5.6mm Connector: Although initially planned for use, these connectors were ultimately not necessary for connecting the motor to the hex rod.
