With these components you can upgrade a standard ball bearing camera slider to a motorized one. Everything is designed for this specific Amazon slider that I own. If you tweak the carriage mount a little bit, you should be able to use one of these similar sliders: You only need to print the files and add the following parts (I assume that you already have essentials like resistors, wire, solder, and a soldering iron): Nema 17 Motor A4988 Stepper Driver Arduino Nano gt2 pulley gt2 belt 2x LEDs potentiometer tactile switch 4x 1/4 inch screws M4 screw *** 2x M3 Screw M3 nut *** only if you have the exact same slider as me The software that I programmed is available on my website. Print Settings Printer: Zonestar D810 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: ONE OF THE SIDES MUST BE MIRRORED The parts should be oriented as listed below: Motorside and Pulley side with bottom (1/4 screw holes) on bed Pulley and endstop with outside (biggest diameter) on bed Carriage mount with top on bed Carriage belt holder with side on bed Motor cover with wider side (top) on bed Post-Printing Install stepper in motorside Wire electronics according to the wiring diagramm (Fritzing file) Install electronics in motorside and motor cover Install pulley at the pulley side Install both sides on the slider Install the belt holder to the carriage Install pulley to stepper and connect the gt2 Belt Download Fritzing file, to view connections in detail See it in action [English audio]
