Motorised Slider.
thingiverse
This weekend's prototype features a motorized mount for a low-cost Sevenoaks slider from China (http://www.sevenoak.biz/company/product-dis.asp?id=959). The setup includes a NEMA 17 stepper motor, a 2GT belt with a 608zz bearing idler, and a home switch. Control is facilitated by an MSP430 Launch Pad and Easy Driver. View video shots of this slider in action at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OwjdrRMq2w. Improvements are ongoing, with additional features demonstrated in the homing sequence (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpGoajpN_Wg&feature=youtu.be) and in-action video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbuVfi_Sm1o). The project utilizes a Replicator 1, acquired two weeks before the launch of its successor, the Replicator 2.
