Motorised Bag Air Valve

A pioneering concept for a motorized Bag Air Valve ventilator has been developed, utilizing a bar linkage design in tandem with a brushless motor to generate the necessary compression on the bag, thus eliminating the need for any control system. This innovative approach enables the device to be powered by an ESC controller, allowing users to precisely regulate breaths per minute. To facilitate ease of manufacturing, printing, assembly, and disassembly, the design has been optimized to minimize required supports when 3D printed, necessitating only metal bearings and shafts for operation. Several outstanding tasks remain: finalizing the linkage design, incorporating bearings, pins, etc., perfecting the motor housing, locating the ESC controller, and conducting a FEA simulation. This design draws inspiration from Badulescu Stefan's ROAERA Ventilator COVID-19 concept but has been streamlined for simplified manufacturing, printing, assembly, and removal of the electrical control system. A suitable example motor is taken from Geoffrey Nielsen's Turnigy TrackStar.
