Motorisation of Thomas
thingiverse
The aim is to take agepbiz's great G-gauge Thomas model, and motorise it. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2518856 This is a work in progress, and requires a lot of internal mods that have yet to be finalised. The model will be remote control, battery operated. OK, I have a fully functional mechanism for a G-gauge Thomas :-) Had to do a lot of tinkering to the original design to fit the motor in. Chassis is a modification of the tram chassis used in https://www.thingiverse.com, /thing:3097453 and uses a similar motor found at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265390838516 A bigger motor won't fit. It added several different ways of doing the wheels, I was able to print the rims in silver and the center in Thomas blue. To get around corners, you need to use a rimless mid wheel. When I have time, I'll add a full write up of the construction :-) Haven't done the radio control yet. PS. G-gauge models for Percy, and Toby.. coming soon ! :-)
