Motorhome mushroom (air vent)
thingiverse
This is a 3D-printer-optimized design for replacing motorhome/caravan air vents, typically found in bathroom ceilings. I've created the model without printing it yet to replace the aging mushrooms on my motorhome, but I have printed a template (included as an STL) to ensure that the screw holes align properly. Additionally, I've included a low-height 190mm diameter STL file for testing if the printer can handle such large prints. The original item consists of five different plastic parts, stacked from top to bottom: 1. Outer mushroom 2. Splash guard 3. External roof mount 4. Internal ceiling mount 5. Internal insect mesh/tube I've modeled and made available the upper two parts. I'll update this design when I model the other parts as well. No. 1 should print without supports if you use a low layer height, but make sure your bed is large enough by printing the 190mm template STL first. My 200x200x200mm Tevo Tarantula printer barely handles such diameters due to the large hotend fan duct. No. 2 will definitely need supports in any printing orientation, so I've left it intact without simplifying the model. To make this design withstand the elements, I recommend coating it with UV varnish after sanding. Enjoy and please share your prints!
