Motorcycle throttle lock - Handguard compatible
thingiverse
This is a redesign of the Motorcycle throttle lock by toofuu and my previous throttle lock. It has a hinge, making it compatible with handguards and generally easier to put on/off even on standard grips. The hinged body is printed in one piece, requiring patience and an X-Acto knife to free up the hinge. The thumbscrew is mounted on top of the throttle lock, not in the slot in the body. The body and thumbscrew have detents to limit slip, which might wear out over time. Use a stainless steel M4 bolt (30-35mm) and a standard nut. The design can be improved, so any feedback is appreciated. Important safety warning: make sure the head of the bolt fits in the hexagonal recess at the bottom of the hinge where the brake lever slides. It's dangerous to have any protrusion that might interfere with brake lever operation. Before trying the throttle lock on the road, familiarize yourself with its operation and adjust the screw tension. Make sure nothing interferes with normal control operation. You don't want to find out something isn't working right during a panic stop. Ride safe! Version 7 (4 files): Increased hinge play for easier printing. Redesigned thumbscrew. Scaled up slightly. Three versions of the main body are available, with or without small tabs to aid throttle lock engagement and disengagement. Thanks to dmai for the idea. Printer settings: FlashForge Creator printer. Yes on rafts and supports. 0.1mm resolution. 75% triangular infill. Notes: Higher resolution makes it easier to open the hinge. Use high % infill or stressed elements will deform/break.
