Motorcycle side stand sand foot
thingiverse
I had to create a custom side stand foot for my motorcycle because the parking lot where I keep my bike is made of compacted sand, and the standard side stand would sink into it easily. To solve this problem, I designed a side stand with triangular spikes at the bottom that can dig into the sand and prevent the bike from sliding away. So far, it has worked well for three months, but unfortunately, someone stole my original design, so I had to reprint one today. Here are the print settings I used to create this custom side stand: * Print orientation: the spiky side of the stand should face upwards * Layer height: 0.3mm * Line width: 0.42mm * Walls: six walls provide maximum stability * Top and bottom layers: five layers ensure a strong bond between the layers * Infill: 60% cubic infill provides adequate support for my ~190kg bike; however, I'm not sure if less infill would be sufficient, so it's best to test it out before using it on a heavy bike * Support settings: touching build plate only is recommended, but you can adjust the bridging settings according to your printer's specifications Please note that this design has been tested on compacted sand and may not work well on soft sand. Also, I've only used this design with a ~190kg bike, so if your bike is significantly heavier, please test it carefully before relying on this side stand foot.
