Replacement air vents for the XR1100 helmet from Shoei are available. These parts play no role in the safety of the helmet; their shape is identical to the original one, so they pose zero additional safety risk and function just as well as they used to be, before becoming stuck over time. The air vents have a non-removable design: The small screw that holds the base is hidden by the cover, and the cover will likely break while trying to remove it, just like it did for me. A mesh was scanned from the original and repaired with Blender. These replacement parts are made of ABS material, which makes them difficult to manufacture any other way, especially with soluble support.
