Motorcycle Hand Guards and Mounts for Vstrom 650 (and others)
thingiverse
I was seeking a basic set of hand guards to take the wind off my hands during winter commutes and handle a few bugs, rocks, or rain in the summer. Unable to find anything online that I could remix, I spent countless hours using FreeCAD and my Rostock Max V2 printer testing the strength and rigidity of various plastics with numerous test prints. This project is a result of those extensive design and printing efforts! It's far from perfect but is a great starting point, considering its intended purpose - to protect your hands from wind, rain, or debris on cold winter mornings and during long freeway rides in the rain. DO NOT expect these guards to safeguard your levers in the event of an accident; they are not designed for off-road use either. I will continue to test and refine this design as I ride year-round with mine. I may make adjustments to improve performance or durability based on my findings. Feel free to remix and modify this project to suit your needs; just give credit where it's due.
