Motorcycle footpeg concept
grabcad
Here is a concept of a motorcycle foot peg that I designed and rendered in Solid Edge. Some of the purposes of the peg are to minimize fabrication and cutting labor, and to give multiple options for customization. For members of the grab cad community that have cool rendering software, feel free to download and render a shot of the foot peg. I would love to see what it would look like rendered in Key Shot. The peg consists of main pivot part that is out of 1/2" thick material that can be easily laser or water jet cut. The only secondary operation other than laser/ water jet cutting would be tapping one hole in the front to accept the all thread rod and one hole at the bottom for a set screw. The fins of various heights and widths would be laser or water jet cut out of 1/8" material. All other components can be bought. (Knurled round nuts, all thread rod, self locking acorn nut, and knurled cap set screw) The design lends to making the peg and buying the parts in multiple material type combinations and multiple finishes such as powder coating or chroming.
