We rely on rim edge protectors when switching out tires for cars and motorcycles by ourselves. Unfortunately, hard filaments won't do the trick. Make sure you use a soft filament such as rubber instead. Even without shopping for a commercial product, it's a great idea to get a rim edge protector with a 3D printer because you can do so yourself.
