MTB P564 Tranen, the Danish navy's prized vessel, boasts a storied past. Formerly known as B95 KNM Storm in Norwegian waters and S82 within the German kriegsmarine ranks, this craft has lived a life marked by transformation. On March 27th, 1963, tragedy struck when MTB P564 Tranen collided with a fishing vessel off the coast of Stavanger. The impact sent the vessel crashing to the ocean floor, leaving it inoperable. Rescue teams sprang into action in April 1963, lifting the damaged MTB P564 Tranen from its watery grave. However, fate had other plans for this once-mighty ship. It was subsequently sold to a breakers yard, where it met a second demise - being deliberately submerged at Steinsøy in Stavanger. Today, MTB P564 Tranen lies at a depth of 55 meters, its incomplete model a testament to the passage of time. Its deck remains unfinished, awaiting restoration that may never come.
