Motor Pinion M1 (Modulus 1) T14 with M3x5 Screw Grub
thingiverse
Hi There! I own an OpenRC Truggy and customized it to use a Mod1 Central Differential. Finding a Mod1 pinion with 3.17mm bore proved troublesome, so I had to search for an adaptor. I'm planning to build my second printed RC car and now can't find the adapter to use 5mm bore metal pinions in 3.17 motor shafts. So, I tried out this [Modulus Gear Customizer](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2572111) and the result is very impressive! I subtracted a cylinder from the exported customizer stl to be able to use a screw grub to lock the pinion in its position. The subtracted cylinder was 2.8mm diameter and worked perfectly for me to securely fit the screw grub. I gave full throttle from 0 and full brake from "top speed" to see if the pinion can do its work without easily breaking, and it passed with flying colors! Even with the 1.1 KG extra weight of my FJ Cruiser Body! The creator of the modulus Customizer included two params to create a keyhole, but not a screw grub hole. It would be great if he adds that feature, so we can directly create the final stl file for printing just in the customizer! Anyway, if you need some help to get a pinion similar to mine but with a different number of teeth, just let me know!
