Motor Pinion Gear for Power Wheels Gearbox
thingiverse
I used gearboxes from PowerWheels kid ride toys to build a robot. I wanted to replace the stock motor with a hobby RC car motor, so I could easily control it using a speed controller. This gearbox fits the hobby motor and has the same size and tooth count as the original motor pinion gear. The OpenScad file creates the gear teeth and dimensions. Then I used Sketchup to modify it to have a flat part for the motor shaft. I used a Hobbywing QUICRUN Series 860 dual 60A waterproof brushed electronic speed controller ESC and a Goolsky AUSTAR 540 55T brushed motor. While driving our robot outdoors for an extended time, the motor shaft eventually tore out the inside of the gear. You may want to consider ways to make the shaft bore stronger, such as adding more shell layers. I just reprinted it after that happened. I'm using this for our initial Snow Removal Robot project.
