This is a Shapeoko 2 motor mount plate engineered specifically for use with NEMA 23 motors exclusively. By eliminating the NEMA 17 mounting pattern, the idler pulleys can be strategically positioned to engage the belt with more pulley teeth, thereby enhancing reliability on larger, heavier machines. Mount the idler pulleys initially because the motor will obstruct access to the screws. Utilize 30 mm button head screws with the heads situated on the motor side and the nut located on the idler pulley side. Install the NEMA 23 stepper motor on 5/16 long spacers (25312-14) secured by 20 mm button head screws. The screw heads should be positioned on the idler pulley side to ensure clearance from the MakerSlide.
