Motor Bounce for FPV racedrone
thingiverse
I am fed up with having my FPV quad motors warp and bearings rattle after a day of garage racing. The motor protectors currently available on the market only shield the bell, an area that rarely takes a hit. Most crashes are caused by impacts between the hard motor axle and unforgiving concrete. These two components do not flex, resulting in bent axles or rattling bearings. To mitigate this issue, these little motor bouncers provide about 3mm of deceleration for the top of the motor during a crash. However, there are some drawbacks to using motor protectors. You will need extra ones because they can be easily lost. Additionally, your motor becomes slightly heavier with the protector installed. For optimal results, print the motor bouncers in TPU with 25% infill for added flexibility. I am not proficient in CAD and hope to see improvements made to my design. Please give credit if you choose to use or modify it. You can also purchase eight motor protectors from my shop for a mere €3.20.
