Moto Z2 Force Camera Case Shell
thingiverse
I created a combo case/shell package for this phone and my Osmo Pocket. I was thrilled with the result, so I decided to design a "camera shell" case specifically for the phone itself (it has an impressive camera suite onboard, featuring 240fps 720p, 120fps 1080p, and 30fps 4k capabilities, as well as true black and white and high-speed options for the self-facing camera!). I got a bit carried away. After 70 hours of work and five iterations, it's almost perfect – just a few minor tweaks to make it flawless. Simply slap the phone into the shell and you're good to go. You can even use the phone while it's in the case. The design includes openings for charging, power button, front and rear lenses, LEDs, and earpiece (if microphone audio isn't optimal, drill a small hole where the mic is located on the phone's front). That little "fence" on the front? Keep your finger below this to prevent it from entering the lens' view. The hole at the bottom is for your tripod socket adapter. You can find the exact product I used here: https://amzn.to/2CIuwsG To print both parts, use no support. I recommend a 3x3x3 .2mm grid with 25% infill in both directions. I experimented with .24mm 3x3x3 and 10% infill grid in both directions, but it didn't work as well as the suggested settings. Use a 95% extrusion multiplier (flow) on Creality machines for optimal results. The phone fits snugly into place and won't budge unless you handle it roughly. To assemble, simply use two M4 20mm bolts – they will install flush with the tripod socket. A deburring tool is necessary to clean up any sharp edges. It's a must-have; I'll be working on plugs and attachments for the "through" hole I designed into this model (storage grip extensions, etc.) in the future. I'm extremely pleased with how well it turned out and plan to incorporate some of these enhancements into my Osmo Pocket design as well.
