Moto X PURE Garmin Windshield Mount
thingiverse
This clip works seamlessly with a Garmin GPS mount featuring a suction cup or bean bag dashboard stand. It enables a Moto X PURE, sans case, to be securely fastened to your car's windshield (Garmin stand not included). The phone can be slid in from the side and held firmly in place. This design is remixed from dorsch's original Moto X Garmin Windshield Mount available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:263310. Initially, I discovered dosch's mount and printed it out, only to realize that it didn't fit my Moto X PURE, which measures 10mm wider than the original design. Consequently, I made some adjustments and the new version fits perfectly now. For optimal results, I recommend printing the mount on its side lengthwise, as this will provide added strength along the axis where the clip experiences the most stress. My prototype was printed using eSun PETG to ensure it withstands the heat of my car during summer months. This design may accommodate other phones and devices, but I haven't conducted any tests to verify this. The distance between the jaws is approximately 76mm. On March 16th, 2017, I added a small notch in the top jaw to prevent it from pressing against the power and volume buttons.
