Moto G3 (2015) bike mount
thingiverse
This is a bike mount for the Moto G 3rd generation (2015) smartphone. It has five simple parts that are easily printed and then assembled together using glue. My results show that the finished product is very sturdy, with an excellent fit that is surprisingly tight. While it could certainly be improved in some areas, I am overall satisfied with the quality of this model as it stands now. After a thorough search, I have found no other bike mount for sale that even comes close to this one's quality and features. Every other option either has parts that are too large or too generic. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rework Rafts: No rafts were used during printing. Supports: None were needed during the printing process. Resolution: The print resolution was set to 0.25mm for optimal results. Infill: I used both 50% and 100% infill for different parts of the mount, with a focus on durability. Notes: To achieve maximum strength in certain areas, I accidentally used 100% infill instead of the recommended 50%. However, this turned out to be unnecessary and would have worked just as well at 50%. This bike mount was printed using ABS plastic. Post-Printing: Once you've finished printing all the parts, you will need to assemble them together by gluing specific areas where they meet. Make sure that these surfaces are flat and that there is a good amount of contact between the glued parts. Assembling the "ribs" into the "backbone" was relatively easy, but if you're using a larger nozzle size (0.4mm or greater), you may need to do some filing to get the stem mount to fit properly onto the backbone. After assembling the bike mount and placing my phone in its designated position, I marked the location of the holes for future reference. Once the phone was removed, I used rubber to seal the holes on both the usb port (at the bottom) and the earphone/mic ports (at the top). This provides dust protection when riding.
