To pay tribute to my retiring boss, I crafted a 3D desktop version of his favorite motivational picture using my Thing-o-matic printer. The base and target were printed in black ABS, while reverse lettering was achieved by filling in the letters with tinted Bondo automotive filler and sanding it flush after curing. Wet sanding up to 600 grit provided a superior finish before acetone wiping and vapor polishing were attempted. The base's interior was filled with rocks and epoxy for weight, while cork protected the bottom. The target received a white coat followed by colorful acrylic paint. Lastly, I made a "frame" from wood scraps and used darts as arrows to complete this memorable gift.
