Mother/Necromancer: Raised By Wolves

Mother is a character from the sci-fi HBO show called Raised by Wolves. she is played by the actress Amanda Collin. Mother is an android who main purpose is to raise human children on Kepler-22b (the new "Earth") to ensure the species survival and to educate them not to make the mistakes others have before (ending in Earth's destruction or ruin). She does this alongside a male android called Father. Oh and she's also a purpose built death machine called a Necromancer! This model was one of the models for my Patreon. She was created when series one was airing. I have since paused my Patreon and as series two is now running I thought ot would be something the general public might enjoy. Hopefully, Mother will get her eyes back and we'll see the Necromancer again :-) I love the image of Mother which is beautiful and graceful as well as terrible and frightening. She was also one of the hardest things I've ever sculpted - remember, a simple figure leaves little room for mistakes and the model went through several iterations before she was in a state where I was happy with her. I have her flying (naturally) and her base is an impression of the Kepler 22b terrain with its spiral crop patterns - I'm trying to convey height and distance and thought it would be more fun than just rocks. She "flies" by having a mounting pole fitted in her foot and attached to the base. I have provided a model for this but I have also used a clear acrylic rod. Incidentally because she can't "stand" unaided, this mounting hole comes in very useful if you want to make a painting station for her. It also means you can design another base for her if you don't like mine. There is also a rotated base for those who want to print on a smaller printer She is probably one of the most unfriendly objects for 3D printing - nothing in her flying pose lends itself to a convenient print, so I give you 2 options: 1) A fully body Mother (best suited for people with large scale resin printers or those who don't mind a smaller print) and who prefer dealing with supports than assembly and post processing 2) A multi piece Mother which will require assembly and processing after printing but doesn't need supports to print. Assembly should be fairly straight forward and she will require gluing, sanding and filler (like spot putty etc" to hide the joins. All my Mother examples were done with the multi piece model. Let me know if you have any questions. She scales well - the big Mother was printed on a Phenom and the little one on a Prusa SL1 Enjoy! Update: As someone asked what paints I used on FB, I thought I'd share my response here too: 1) Black primer 2) Overall base of raw umber and seal with a matte varnish 3) Dry brush Oak brown by Army painter - not overall but to start to build form(so the creases etc remain dark). I do this twice and seal in between 4) Start to introduce Army painter Leather brown blending with Oak brown and working up to the higher parts of the model with the lighter brown - this can take 2 or 3 layers. Once happy, I seal again. 5) I use Vallejo airbrush colour in gold. It's pretty translucent anyway but I further dilute it with airbrush media so I can build up. Mother isn't gold, she's gold shining brown. I then seal with a clear satin varnish. tbh I should probably mix a matte and satin for this but I like the brighter shine This could all be done with an airbrush but for my personal taste, I think the dry brush work gives it a more organic feel and so I only used my airbrush for the base and the gold. Oh and Army Painter Electric Blue for her eyes.
