Mostly 3D Printed Rotary Switch
thingiverse
I am currently building a replica of the Minivac 601, an electro-mechanical computer from 1961. This project requires a rotary switch with specific characteristics: it must have 16 positions (1P16T), allow continuous rotation, be non-shorting, mount directly to a panel, and be motorized. The last requirement is crucial - without motorization, many potential switches fall short. They may be too small physically or require excessive torque to switch between positions. To address this challenge, I designed a 3D printable solution that incorporates reed switches and magnets.
