This spray can was used to combat malaria, a deadly disease transmitted by mosquitoes. The can contained water with suspended particles of a green powder called Paris green, which proved highly effective at eliminating mosquito larvae. Produced during World War I (1914-1918), this spray can likely found its way into the hands of British soldiers.
