Moseley Family Graves
sketchfab
This sibling plot is dedicated to Karl, Hallock, and Florence Moseley. Karl and Hallock were Charles Scott Moseley's sons with Julia Daniels Moseley, while Florence was their half-sister and Julia's step-daughter. As a skilled artist, Karl showcased his Florida scenes often highlighting African American life in Tampa through his work, which was displayed at various galleries across the state as part of a WPA Federal Arts project. Hallock served as both a Navy and Merchant Marine engineer during World War I and the post-war era, traveling extensively throughout the world during his military career. Florence, affectionately known as Frindy, played a vital role in preserving family history by saving Julia's writings and letters after their original homestead was destroyed in a fire. The Moseley Homestead site, built around 1886, earned a spot on the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and remains a landmarked historic site within Hillsborough County. Members of the family are laid to rest at Limona Cemetery in Brandon, Florida.
