MOSAICO OECUS - VILLA DE LAS MUSAS
sketchfab
The Main Room Mosaic / Oecus A rectangular space emblem is framed by a labyrinth and contains a scene that has been interpreted as the farewell of Attis who, after breaking his promise to remain chaste, leaves Cibeles to marry the daughter of the king of Pesinonte. The head or exedra of this large room was the place where a continuous semicircular bed and separate seats, triclinium, were placed for owners and guests to participate in banquets. The center remained free for servants' use, with the central part of the mosaic visible, depicting Attis's wedding to the king of Pesinonte's daughter, showing their hands joined together at the moment of union.
