Mosaic Palette 2 Adapter for Artillery Sidewinder X1 3D Printer
thingiverse
The Palette 2 comes with a velcro stick on adapter that securely holds the tube in place, but unfortunately, this didn't work well on the X1 due to its angled extruder cover design, causing it to come off frequently. To solve this issue, I created an adapter specifically designed to connect the palette tube directly to the extruder. There are two versions of the adapter: one for use with strong and slightly flexible materials, which can be printed as is and then replace the filament guide tube; however, most materials will break off during printing. The second version, a shorter design, allows for printing in decently strong materials like PETG at 100% fill, without requiring flexibility. To install it, simply remove the filament guide tube from the top of the extruder, insert the short adapter so that its tab fits inside the cutout and aligns with the holes, then slide the filament guide tube back into place in the extruder. This will prevent the adapter from sliding out, ensuring the tab stays out of the slot. Finally, add an extra rubber grommet to the adapter and attach the plastic tube as instructed by the palette screen. Both versions are designed for printing upside down due to the cone's angles, making supports unnecessary. In my experience, the tab prints fine without supports, but results may vary.
