Morton's Inn
sketchfab
Morton's Welcome Inn was constructed by convict Michael Morton in 1850 as an exact replica of his ancestral home in Ireland. This sturdy stone structure served not only as a residence for Morton's family, who numbered eight strong, but also as a vital provisions store and public bar catering to the needs of local miners, who had been granted a liquor license from 1866 to 183. The imposing building still stands proudly amidst the bush, its presence a testament to the enduring legacy of Michael Morton, situated just a short distance from Dunolly.
