Mortiser chisel box
thingiverse
I do precision joinery in wood along with laser cutting work. Like many craftsmen, I own one of those affordable mortise cutting machines, which comes with square chisels. Here's a simple box design to store them safely. The materials used for this project include 6mm and 4mm MDF sheets, 3mm bamboo kebab skewers as hinge pins, and a few small rare earth magnets for secure closure. Assembly is straightforward - simply cut the parts according to the design and glue them together. Once the glue dries, place four small rare-earth magnets inside the front corners of the box to act as a reliable latch mechanism. I use Corel Draw X3 for designing the project, then export it in PDF and EPS formats. The black lines represent cutting paths, while blue and red lines signify engraving areas.
