This Cylinder Holder design heavily drew inspiration from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3271556. I completely redesigned this piece in Fusion 360, treating it as a remix but not entirely sure if that's accurate. The Fusion 360 file is included for anyone looking to customize the holder for their specific mortise cylinder needs. This holder accommodates standard 29mm Mortise Cylinders and serves primarily as a tool for practicing lock picking on these cylinders. It should be comfortable to hold, allowing users to place it in a vise if desired, even when printed with PLA. A small hole at the bottom aids in removing the mortise cylinder from the holder, while cut sides enable the cylinder cam to rotate past potential deep false sets. The side openings are designed to fit cylinders ranging from 1" to around 1-1/2" in size, although I've personally tested up to a 1-3/8" cylinder with some room left over. The design also features a small area for storing keys or picks if needed. While the original suggests printing this holder in TPU, it can be printed in PLA as well. However, please note that PLA prints may be a bit tight. Printing Instructions: This model can be printed without supports on most printers. However, I leave the decision to use supports up to you and your printer settings. Recommended Printing Settings: TPU: 0.2mm - 15% Infill NOT Recommended (PLA) Printing Settings: PLA at 0.3mm - Very tight, only recommended for older cylinders. PLA at 0.2mm - Will be a bit better but mostly still tight. I had issues with an Adams Rite style 1" Mul-T-Lock mortise cylinder not fitting in the PLA print. Removing cylinders from PLA prints that were inserted forcefully will require something like a small metal flashlight or wooden dowel to be inserted into the bottom hole. If inserted gently, you should be able to use your finger to push the mortise cylinder right out. Feel free to use the Fusion 360 file if it can aid in your project.
