Print out screw holes by removing any support material, then tap threads into each hole using SPAX Multi-Purpose Construction Screws #8 x 2 inches. Cut off screw heads, leaving about 1-1.25 inches remaining. Use locking pliers to screw the cut-off end of each screw into its respective hole. Leave approximately 0.43 inches of the screw protruding for cleaning mortars measuring 2.5 inches or larger. Optional longer screws can be used and more may be left exposed to clean even larger mortars. A total of twenty screws are needed to complete this tool. The finished product can be threaded onto a broomstick or paint handle, allowing for efficient mortar cleaning.
