Morse-Vail Telegraph Key

In 1844, Alfred Vail crafted this pivotal telegraph key, reportedly from the very first Baltimore-Washington line, as a refinement of Samuel Morse's pioneering transmitter. My model is based on a precise 3D scan of the original key obtained from the Smithsonian Institution's 3D Digitization website. You can observe and download it here: https://3d.si.edu/object/3d/morse-vail-telegraph-key:ed99f44d-3c60-4111-b666-e2908e1b64ef The only components of the model that are not 3D printed are (2) 5mm x 20 bolts and nuts used for the upper adjustment screws. These bolts are securely attached to the knobs, while the nuts are firmly embedded in recesses underneath the key.
