Morphy Richards Bread Maker Drive Belt Replacement

Morphy Richards Bread Maker Drive Belt Replacement

I designed this belt as an interim solution under national lockdown due to COVID-19, utilizing my old bread baking machine that sat idle for eight to ten years. The rubber drive belt from the original machine deteriorated rapidly, crumbling apart after initial use. Online replacements were available, but I opted against ordering such a mundane part during a national emergency, knowing it would take weeks to arrive. I tried using TPU to create a replacement belt and made multiple design iterations to account for shrinkage, measurements, and flexibility issues. After refining the design, I was able to produce a working solution that could be relied upon. Having used this belt daily for several weeks now, I've found it to perform consistently without slipping or varying in tension. Although there's a slight mismatch between the "teeth" spacing, it's sufficient for my needs. If needed, I can easily print another replacement. This custom-made belt is not an exact replica of the original due to printing constraints that required adjustments.
