MORPH X
grabcad
MORPH X is a sleek shapeshifting gaming mouse that is truly ambidextrous and can morph itself to fit most hand sizes and all grip styles, a perfect one-size-fits-all design without the need for extra attachments. This concept takes full advantage of Polyjet's ability to print multiple materials at the same time, particularly the rubber like Agilus30 material for the outer rubber shell--a part that would be almost impossible to prototype quickly and economically without 3D printing. MORPH X can be configured without any tools, as side panels and palm pad height can be easily adjusted using the four scroll wheels and single central knob located on the bottom of the mouse, while the overall length of the mouse is adjusted using the ratcheting system under the palm panel. As mentioned before, MORPH X is fully ambidextrous thanks to the way each panel articulates independently, which gives the user fine control over how the mouse fits in his hand.Styling wise MORPH X embodies the idea of "restrained aggression," drawing visual and mechanical cues from insects, sea shells, and contemporary automotive styling. The understated, simple, and yet aggressive lines combined with its ability to "morph" into almost infinite forms makes MORPH X perfect for almost any use scenario. Next step in developing this concept would be to flesh out internal component arrangement while verifying feasibility of the mechanical system.
