Morotopithecus bishopi is a fossilized vertebrae that was discovered in Moroto II, Karamoja District, Uganda over 14 million years ago. The specimen measures 63 mm in length, 37 mm in width, and 36 mm in height, making it a significant find for paleontologists studying the evolution of primates. A detailed epoxy resin cast of the vertebrae was created by the Wenner-Gren Foundation Casting Program at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. The original fossil was collected between 1961 and 1963 by a team led by W.W. Bishop, F. Whyte, and D. Allbrook. Today, the model is part of the teaching collection of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where it serves as an educational tool for students and researchers. A scale model of the vertebrae was designed by Aidan Paul, providing a detailed representation of this ancient fossil.
