That role was filled by Morian, a man uninterested in all but his books and documentation of historic events. An event like this, he would not miss. He personally oversaw the great declarations and verdicts, filling scrolls by the dozen every waking hour. As his death approached, he wrote all of himself into his most prized scrolls. And so, returning from death more as a byproduct of Lotharius' mass resurrections, he began his work again. He soon discovered that wherever Lotharius' armies roamed, great deeds would need to be chronicled. At last, he decided to predict the outcomes of many fights and was overjoyed at the discovery that those he had written off as dead did indeed perish within moments.
