Morelull (Gen VII Pokémon) nightlight using 3 different glow-in-the-dark filaments and UV LEDs. Actual size! Based on a game model rip courtesy of TheAdorableOshawott on DeviantArt. Body and centre stalk are printed in ColorFabb glowFill. Left and right bell are printed in OPY Sky Blue glow-in-the-dark filament, and centre bell is printed in OPY Purple glow-in-the-dark filament. The eyes are added using waterslide decal transfer paper. Other coloured elements are painted with heavily diluted Tamiya acrylic model paints. BOM: Six (or more) 5 mm ultraviolet (~400 nm) LEDs Six (or more) small-package 100 Ω resistors Battery holder for 3 AA or AAA batteries Slide switch rated at least 200 mA Thin wire Cushioned double-sided tape to mount the battery holder and switch One LED goes at the end of each stalk, and 3 or more further LEDs go inside the hollow body. N.B. there is very little space inside the stalks, so use thin wire and small-package resistors (or put the resistors in the body). Make sure you use 5 mm LEDs for the stalks, as the bells are designed to fit onto them exactly. Wires for power can be routed through the feet. 3 AA or AAA batteries (4.5 V total) should be used for power. Alternatively, you can use USB power; this will require modifying the base STL. Designed to be printed with a 0.8mm hardened steel nozzle. If using Cura, use a line width of 0.75 mm and add a few % to your flow rate to compensate. Supports are required in the body, around the mounting point for the centre stalk. Use the support blocker to prevent supports elsewhere, especially inside the feet. The bells also require support. The STLs are provided without built-in tolerances; use a deburring tool to trim the parts to fit. It should be obvious how everything fits together. N.B. since this based on a design owned by Nintendo, I have opted for a restrictive non-commercial license. Sorry about that. Modification for personal use is fine, of course, but do not redistribute the STLs, whether modified or unmodified. Category: Decor
