More Vintage Style Party Lights for Patio, RV, or Camper
thingiverse
Inspired by vintage blow molded lights, user "mxfaiman" version of vintage lights catches the eye. Capturing other shapes reminiscent of blow molded patio lights at camp grounds is a goal, with more to come as they're worked through. These can use almost any kind of string light with this adapter, fitting regular C7 bulbs and 40mm globe style bulbs that share the same socket as C7 - known as G40 bulbs. Keeping wattage low or using LED versions of C7 is key to prevent covers from melting. Printing the "shell" with no top, no infill, and two or three walls/shells is a good start. Tips include printing the Ice Cream scoop with zero top and bottom layers. The Ice Cream Cone can be printed with zero bottom and two or three top layers. Windmill blades need to be printed flat and glued on afterward, or modified with a hole for mounting on the base. The "adapter" can be printed at 10% infill. Its outer diameter is 70mm. Supergluing it on top of the shell once both are done is the next step. Making your own shells is simple: get a model in about the right proportions (100mm tall, with a top roughly 70x70mm), print it hollow with no top, and superglue the adapter on top.
