Check out these two more icosahedral pencil holders (thing:81434). The first one replaces the icosahedron's faces with hexagons made of triangles, giving it a mini "Bucky ball" appearance and consisting of 19 hexagons and 12 pentagons. Alternatively, the second holder features circular faces with spaces filled by hypocycloids. You can print both STL files - icosa_holder_6v4.stl and icosa_holder_circles.stl - directly on your build platform without needing support. The circular-faced holder has some overhang, but Replicator 0040 managed it well. For printing, use two shells and 5% infill.
