More 3 Piece Cube Puzzles
thingiverse
This is a rework of thing:1596627 - 7849 Three Piece Puzzles. It is an attempt to create 3 piece puzzles that are more challenging to solve. Instead of three pieces of equal size, the pieces are now of three different sizes. This increases the number of possible puzzles significantly. Three puzzles are included here: puzzle_p8910_21062.stl puzzle_p8910_21074.stl puzzle_p8910_28770x.stl OpenSCAD code that can construct 45972 different puzzles is provided. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Notes: All the puzzles overhang and require support. Notes: A number of puzzles were created in a search for more difficult ones. Two of the included puzzles slide together easily, relying on the complexity of the pieces to confuse the solver. Puzzle_p8910_28770x.stl is actually physically impossible to solve. Clearances were increased by 50% which allows it to be solved. The piece containing 10 subcubes takes a path around the 3x3x3 cube, and if the piece with 9 subcubes is inserted in the right position, it can be rotated into place with little or no resistance. More details are given at the beginning of the openSCAD code.
