MooseHead Bridge

MooseHead Bridge

I created a custom moosehead bridge for my wife's pool league, and I'd like to share it with others to use and modify. The design is based on a cheap bridge she purchased years ago, but one issue is the rubber grommet - I've yet to find a reliable source, although I did develop a 3D printed mold that can be filled with RTV rubber and cured. I recently updated the project with another model featuring fillets. Additionally, I designed a bridge grommet mold and a corresponding grommet. The mold was successfully tested on our Zortrax in ABS at high resolution, using a soft RTV material for demolding. Initially, I tried printing the grommet with flexible filament, but it lacked the necessary flexibility. To accommodate a 1/4 inch thick moosehead bridge, I designed the center piece of the grommet to fit this specification. If you're 3D printing your own moosehead bridge, be sure to increase the Z dimension to achieve the desired thickness. I opted for this adjustment as I planned to laser cut the moosehead bridge from an exotic wood - specifically mahogany.
