I created a moon lamp. The moon STL is too large to upload to Pinshape, but you can download it here: http://www.mrclaasen.com/download/moon_depth_0.35_bool_5_hole_2.7.stl.zip\r\n\r\nYou can also download a smaller moon at https://www.mrclaasen.com/download/moon1000_depth_0.2_radius_3.0_base_3.44.stl.zip\r\n\r\nAnd a small Jupiter is available here: https://www.mrclaasen.com/download/jupiter1000_depth_0.2_radius_3.0_base_3.44.stl.zip\r\n\r\nThe base can be used along with the mold I provided to create the concrete-filled base seen in the pictures. This also makes the base more substantial than if it was just printed. I added rubber feet to the base and it sits nicely without sliding around.\r\n\r\nFor best results, use a well-sanded mold and base. I then stained the base and applied acrylic sealer to coat it before placing it into the mold, securing it with a bolt, and filling the empty space with concrete. After removing the base from the mold before the concrete was fully solidified, I sanded away any excess concrete that got in the wrong places, such as on the legs, and flattened the bottom. Finally, I let it harden completely, polished it, and gave it one last sanding to prevent an overly glossy finish.
